My work is rooted in processes that transform discarded materials into visual movements—researching connections between stolen cultural histories and present-day social conversations
Inspired by faint memories of my grandmother’s sewing lessons, I use found fabrics and fibers to construct cultural artifacts. Through repetition—with research, needle, thread, and fiber—my work engages with current conversations about the conditions and concerns shaping our experiences as Black people in America.
I source fabrics from local thrift stores and reuse centers, sewing new value to devalued materials. Hand-stitching, patchworking and research converge in my practice, bridging traditional methods with contemporary tools.
By layering stories into material forms, I aim to highlight forgotten histories, spark cultural movements, and reclaim what and who have been lost to us.
